A Halo 10-Year Residential Guarantee gives you peace of mind, covering you long after the build is complete.

It’s tailor-made to provide security for homeowners and offers greater protection than the Building Act and Consumer Guarantees Act, ensuring you’re covered well beyond the construction phase.

Only an NZCB builder can offer the Halo 10-Year Residential Guarantee – ensuring your home is built with confidence.

What does Halo cover?

Workmanship & Materials

Halo covers defects in workmanship and materials that don’t meet the New Zealand Building Code or accepted standards in the first two years. If something goes wrong and your builder can’t or won’t fix it, Halo can step in to get it sorted - giving you peace of mind from day one.

Structural Defects

You’re covered for serious structural issues like problems with foundations, framing, load-bearing walls, floors, and roof systems for up to 10 years. Even some weathertightness issues are included if they cause damage to your home - because the big things should never become big problems.

Claim-related Costs

If you need to move out during repair work due to a covered claim, Halo can help cover the cost of temporary accommodation, moving and storing furniture, and even professional fees for engineers or surveyors up to $30,000.

Fully Transferable

Selling your home? The Halo Guarantee goes with it. It’s fully transferable to future owners, offering the same protection for up to 10 years from completion, adding value and confidence for any buyer.

How much does Halo cost?

The Halo guarantee offers peace of mind for generally less than 0.42% of your total build or renovation cost. It’s priced using a tiered structure, so you only pay for the level of cover that matches your project.

Whether you’re building a first home or a high-end renovation, you get the right protection at the right price.
